Getting started with Stride One
Everything you need to set up the insoles, wear them, and get your data across. If something is not covered here, write to support@ceriter.com.
1. Get your phone ready
- Plug the insoles in with a USB-C cable to turn them on.
- Download the Ceriter Stride One app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Log in with your username and password.
- In the app, open the Insoles screen and connect the insoles. Press Start scanning if you do not see them.
2. Place the insoles
- Put the Stride One insoles on top of or underneath the insoles you already have.
- Make sure they lie flat and are not bent.
- Clip the housing onto the outside of the shoe.
- Double-sided tape helps if the insoles slip.
3. Wearing them day to day
There is no button. The insoles record whenever they detect movement, and sleep when you are still. A recording starts when you move and ends after about five minutes without movement.
Download your data once a day. The insoles hold about 25 hours of recording. Connect them in the app and press Download Data. An hour of recording takes roughly two minutes to transfer, per insole.
Processing is automatic. Once downloaded, data uploads to the cloud and is processed. This takes a few minutes and needs an internet connection.
Charge every night. Plug both insoles in overnight so you start each day fully charged.
4. If you use an Android phone
Android needs one setting changed before downloads work reliably:
- Go to Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Never auto sleeping apps
- Press + and add Stride One
5. What the light means
| Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blinking green | Charging |
| Solid green | Fully charged, while connected to power |
| Blinking orange | Battery below 20% |
| Blinking orange twice every five seconds | Storage more than 80% full |
| Blinking red and green alternately | The insole has been in deep sleep and needs connecting to the app |
| Solid red | Restarting, waking up, or changing mode |
6. Seeing your data
Your data is in the app, and in more detail at portal.ceriter.com. To understand what the numbers and charts mean, see reading your data.
7. Common questions
Why is downloading slow?
Downloading happens over Bluetooth, and the speed depends on your phone. On most phones an hour of recording takes about a minute to transfer, per insole. Ten hours on both insoles can therefore take twenty minutes. Downloading more than once a day keeps each transfer short.
My download failed. What should I do?
Three things help. Download one insole at a time rather than both together. Keep the screen on and stay in the app, since background downloads get less capacity. And keep the insoles within a few metres of the phone while it transfers.
I downloaded data but see no steps.
Processing takes a few minutes after the upload. Occasionally data stays stuck on the phone after a background download. Walk for a few minutes, disconnect and reconnect the insoles, then download again — that triggers a fresh upload, including whatever was stuck.
What does "Recordings" mean?
The number of separate recording files on each insole. A new one starts when the insole detects movement and ends after about five minutes without any.
When are the insoles recording?
Whenever they are charged and detect movement. There is no off switch. They stop after five minutes of stillness and start again when you move.
I walked but the app shows zero recordings.
The app updates device status about once a minute while connected, so you may be seeing an older reading. Disconnect and reconnect to refresh it.
I cannot see any insoles to connect to.
Check that scanning is on — the button should turn green and say "Scanning". Then check the insoles are charged, within a few metres, and not already connected to another phone. If none of that helps, plug them into power, wait ten seconds, and try again.
